After graduating UCLA with a degree in Mass Communications, as well matriculating what I called "Hefner's Finishing School," I've been a lifelong entrepreneur.

My first business was Gotcha Photography doing PR work. After that, I built and ran an advertising agency with a partner in Marin County, CA, working with a client base that included Autodesk, Birkenstock and division of Continental Airlines. I wore a lot of hats as one does in a  small business. I did product and people photography, developed advertising and marketing campaigns, wrote copy, worked with our clients and vendors, did deliveries and just about anything else that needed doing.

After an emergency detour beneath a surgeon's knife in 1991, I jumped off of the side of my life and lived on the island of Granada for a year. When I returned to the US, I discovered a new profession called coaching. It was a perfect venue for using my people skills, Masters level certification in NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP is also the foundation of Tony Robbins' work), Clinical Hypnotherapy training, as well as my marketing background to help my clients.

I hung out my first shingle as a Success Coach in 1992 and I found my passion for being a catalyst for my clients' personal and professional evolution. I worked with men and women at NASA, the US Army, FedEx and hundreds of startup executives and entrepreneurs. During this time, I was also a motivational speaker and served on the Boards of a number of organizations including The Professional Coaches and Mentors Association for 3 years, the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs, and the Association of Women in Technology.

In 2007, I moved out of the city and into a beautiful rural area in the Pacific Northwest. I've been semi-retired yet very active doing local volunteer work and serving on the Board of our beautiful historic art theater.

I always knew that I would write this book one day and began doing my research through my jounals and writing in 2008. Fiction would have been easier!

I am dedicated to being and sharing capable, confident, and loving role models for women to learn from, be inspired by, and become. I seek to help create a more equitable balance of power with women and men in leadership positions in our world, which I do with my speaking, writing, and coaching programs.
